Big Time in Hollywood, FL is a dark comedy television series that follows two delusional brothers with big dreams of becoming filmmakers as they spiral into an increasingly absurd and dangerous series of events. The show was primarily shot on location, which required inventive storytelling through production design. This was a fairly low budget television series for Comedy Central. the production team had a unique task to recreated the bad filmmaking techniques of the two man characters. That idea also extended into the work of the art department where all of the Graphics, props, and set dressing had to have an amateurish look but also be good enough to play on camera and help tell the story.
This effort played critical role in establishing the show's world, conveying key plot points, and adding depth to the characters' misadventures. From fake movie posters to intricately designed environments, the art department's work was essential in grounding the outrageous narrative in a visually dynamic and cohesive reality.
