The Waiting Workforce was a compelling 2024 project commissioned by J.P. Morgan in collaboration with Biscuit Filmworks and the Australian artists collective The Glue Society. The large-scale installation addressed the Clean Slate Act, featuring 38 life-sized human sculptures created from expungement papers—documents essential for clearing the records of individuals with non-violent convictions, enabling their reentry into the workforce.
Each of the 38 figures symbolized a state yet to adopt this critical legislation, highlighting the collective action needed for nationwide reform.
As art director for the installation, I was responsible for securing the location and assembling the fabrication team to bring the vision to life. The sculptures were displayed at Independence National Park in Philadelphia for a month, standing near the National Constitution Center and Independence Hall—iconic symbols of America’s ongoing pursuit of justice and equality.
The project also included a short film, for which I served as production designer. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in spring 2024, further amplifying the project's message. Following the installation, the sculptures were distributed to Chase locations across the U.S., continuing to inspire dialogue about justice, reform, and second chances.
